POLICIES
APPOINTMENT TIMES
As a mobile groomer, an approximate 30 minute arrival window before or after your set appointment is required to help accommodate for extended grooming times, traffic, etc. If Om Doggies feels we will be more than 30 minutes early or late, we will call/text ahead.
BEHAVIORAL ISSUES
Om Doggies will make every attempt to groom an uncooperative dog, however if the grooming process is extended to due to behavioral issues, an extra behavioral handling fee of $1 per minute will be charged. If the behavioral issues pose a threat to themselves, other pets or our groomers, we may not be able to complete the grooming.
CANCELLATIONS, RESCHEDULES AND NO SHOWS
A $50 fee will be applied to each dog scheduled for any of the following reasons:
1) Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment.
2) Reschedules within 24 hours of your appointment.
3) Appointment no shows; after waiting for no more than 15 minutes and making two attempts to contact you via call/text.
DE-MATTING BRUSH OUT
Heavily matted dogs require additional time to de-mat. If applicable, on admission we will ask you to make a decision for de-matting brush out or shave down to start the regrowth of the coat. Om Doggies will, for a fee of $2 per minute, allocate up to 25 mins for additional brush out. If after 25 minutes, the mats are not resolved, the groomer will spot shave or full shave to complete the grooming process. De-matting brush out is painful and stressful to the dog and Om Doggies will decline to brush out any dog who cannot tolerate this service.
Using Om Doggies on a regular basis will help prevent tangles and mats on your dog.
DENSE COAT BRUSH OUT
Om Doggies accepts dense coat dogs that are on a frequent grooming schedule, as recommended by the groomer. A frequent grooming schedule is necessary because dense coated dogs require additional time for brush out if not properly maintained. Om Doggies will allocate up to 45 mins for additional brush out, for a fee of $2 per minute. This charge will only occur for dogs that are able to handle the brush out.
DRIVING AND PARKING CONDITIONS
Om Doggies offers state of the art mobile dog grooming services within a fully converted 2020 Ford Transit-350 cargo high roof van. The dimensions of the mobile dog grooming van are 22' long, 8' wide and 10'4" high. We ask that there is adequate, flat parking space when we arrive.
Additionally, the driving and parking conditions must be clear of anything that may hinder our ability to turn around or back out. Please be aware of tree overhangs as we will not enter the property if there is potential for damage to the mobile dog grooming van.
If we are unable to park in front of your home, Om Doggies/you will mutually agree on an alternative location to park the mobile dog grooming van and preform the services. Once we are parked and have the dog(s) inside the mobile dog grooming van, we are unable to stop the service and move the van.
ESTIMATING PET GROOMING COST
Om Doggies does our best to give clients an estimate of the pet grooming cost based upon the type of service, breed, weight and current state grooming condition of your dog(s). The estimate is not a guaranteed price of the actual pet grooming service. The actual pet grooming price will be determined at the end of the pet grooming service by the condition and behavior of your dog(s).
INCLEMENT WEATHER
When snow or inclement weather is in the forecast, Om Doggies/you will mutually agree on an alternative approach to your appointment, which may include rescheduling when the road conditions improve.
MAINTENANCE BRUSHING AT HOME
While maintaining your dog’s coat health can seem daunting, it is important that you make sure you are brushing it correctly based on your dog’s fur/hair type, and that you are brushing it regularly. Om Doggies recommends brushing your dog’s coat at least every couple of days, even for short-coated dogs.
If you have a dog with a higher maintenance coat, such as a poodle, poodle mix (these coats can be especially prone to matting), or a double-coated dog (i.e., Akita, Husky, Sheltie, Great Pyrenees), brushing daily is best. If you keep up on brushing, you will only need to do it for a few minutes each day to keep their coat in tip-top shape.
MEDICAL ATTENTION
Grooming equipment is sharp, even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems working on dogs could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases, this happens when a dog is wiggling or moving around. Matted and/or infrequently groomed dogs are most susceptible to skin irritations and other problems resulting from a longer, more difficult groom. Regular professional grooming is best for your dog! Om Doggies cannot be held liable for dog illnesses/injuries due to the risks of grooming. In the event the groomer is injured by your dog(s), you as the owner will be responsible and liable for any injuries that require medical treatment including any property damage caused by your dog’s behavior.
NAIL TRIMMING
Nail trimming is subject to dog behavior. If your dog is not used to the nail trimming process Om Doggies will not force your dog in any way.
PARASITES
Om Doggies strives to be a parasite free environment. If fleas or ticks are found on your dog during the grooming process, your pet will be treated with a flea and tick shampoo and you will be charged an additional fee. Please note that parasites are a health hazard to your pet as well as to humans.
PAYMENT
Payment is due when service is rendered by debit/credit card only. If payment is not received within 24 hours of service, a $50 per dog late fee will be applied. Cash and checks are not accepted.
PHOTOGRAPHS
Om Doggies may take and/or use photographs of your dog(s) for such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising and web content.
ROUTINE SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT - DELUXE PET GROOMING (HAIRCUT)
Deluxe pet grooming dogs (haircut) must be on a 6 - 8 week routine schedule to maintain service. The intent for this policy requirement is to (1) help maintain the coat at the desired length, with the goal being to avoid mats and (2) to optimize the "gentle grooming" experience for your dog(s) due to the fact that after eight weeks, matting can become a challenge. De-matting brush out is painful and stressful to the dog. Even on a 6 - 8 week routine schedule, maintenance brushing your dog’s coat at home at least every couple of days is necessary.
SATISFACTION
Om Doggies strives to make sure we understand your needs and that we have interpreted your pet grooming style preference properly. If you feel that your dog's style needs to be adjusted, please do not hesitate to contact us within the first 24 hours after the groom so that we can adjust the style. Any adjustments after that time period may require a new full paid pet grooming due to the coat condition changing in daily wear, making it difficult to style without re-bathing and blow drying.
SHAVE DOWN AVOIDANCE
Om Doggies maintains policies to optimize the "gentle grooming" experience for your dog(s). The Routine Schedule Requirement policy coupled with the Maintenance Brushing at Home policy aims to avoid matting which can only be resolved via shave down. Shave downs are painful and stressful to the dog, specifically (1) getting to the point that the mats are so tight they can’t be brushed out and (2) the uncomfortable shave down process to remove the mats.
Om Doggies will consult the client how to avoid shave downs, however given the mission to offer "gentle grooming" for the dog(s), after two shave down appointments occur, the client will be asked to seek grooming services elsewhere.
VACCINATIONS
Dogs serviced by Om Doggies must be up to date on all vaccinations. Please bring copy of the vaccination record for our file.
WEIGHT LIMIT
Om Doggies is capable of grooming dogs up to 70 pounds.
